Louisville’s Sidewalk Derby is Back! Gallopalooza is a civic pride initiative blossomed in the spring of 2004 as a way to beautify the streets, encourage tourism and local exploration, showcase local artists and generate civic pride. The theme for 2009 is Possibility City – which captures every nuance of the community that makes our Kentuckiana region truly special.
This year, Twiggy was asked to be the artist for three horses; one for Thorntons and two for Churchill Downs. Her designs exhibit the true energy and excitement that come along with Louisville’s favorite holiday – The Kentucky Derby. The horse for Thorntons, Derby Girls by Day & Night, will be located at The Mellwood Arts & Entertainment Center and the two horses for Churchill Downs, Party in the Paddock and Lily, will be located at Churchill Downs.
