Twiggy Collector Series: The Georgia Peach

It’s an honor to have Twiggy fans across the country (and outside of the country too — I’m talking to my girls in Canada and the Cayman Islands!!) But, it’s a special honor when those fans become collectors. It’s only fitting that we kick-off the Twiggy Collector Series with one of my favorite clients, and now friend, Sherricka Day. There usually isn’t a month where I don’t get an order from this fabulous woman, who has been adding to her Twiggy Collection since 2008. And, in 2012, she and her friend, Connie, drove all the way up from Georgia to surprise me at my first Uptown Art class. She’s colorful, she’s fun, she’s a class-act and I am lucky to have her as a client and friend. Get to know a little more about her below:

Name: Sherricka Day
Age: 36
Location: Columbus, GA
Occupation: She prepares proposals by day and is a true-American picker/junker the rest of the time. When she’s not behind a desk, you can find her perusing yard/estate sales finding treasures to stock the booth she rents at a local thrift mall.
Dream: Ride around with the guys from the show, American Pickers. And, eventually open her very own store where she can sell all her finds!

T: So, how did you hear about Twiggy?
S: I was doing some virtual “window-shopping” on Etsy and ran across Twiggy’s shop.

T: Do you remember your first Twiggy Original?
S: Yes! She was eventually taken from me by one of my friends who kept begging to have her.
T: It’s fun to spread the Twiggy love! I’m sure you quickly replaced her. How many total Twiggy Originals have you purchased for yourself/others?
S: I own around 20, minus one or two that my family members have stolen. I have purchased about 10 as gifts.

T: What is it about Twiggy paintings that you love so much?
S: Each painting captures the essence of confidence, beauty, sexiness and style on canvas that makes a bold statement.

T: You know that my kitties, Coco Chanel and Vera Wang are always with me in my studio. Do you have any pets?
S: I have a Lhasa poo named Tiki

T: What is your life motto?
S: Be the best that you can be!

T: Besides your phone or super delish handbag, what are three things you cannot live without?
S: Lipgloss, music and something to read

T: Lastly, what makes your Twiggy Collection special to YOU?
S: All my Twiggy paintings mean something different to me. They remind me of myself, my friends, a night out on the town, etc. They are wonderful conversation pieces that add to the colorful vibe that I want in my home and at my job.
